Keepers Presents Playtime @ National Design Centre (Nov 26, 2015 - Jan 10, 2016)
EVENT PRESS: "With the advent of the festive season and the anticipated flurry of gifting, KEEPERS presents “Playtime” at its pop-up in National Design Centre, November 26, 2015 until January 10, 2016. Organized by Carolyn Kan, Founder and Designer of Carrie K. and supported by the DesignSingapore Council, KEEPERS at National Design Centre is conceptualized as a collective of ateliers where visitors can meet the designer artisans to understand their craftsmanship better. Keepers Playtime aims to capture playful stories to inspire in the inner child in all of us. KEEPERS Playtime will showcase and retail selected merchandise and designs of 30 designers, artists and artisans that have a unique story and reflect the growing calibre and diversity of the Singapore creative culture." Mum saw the word(s) "Playtime" and thought it would be suitable for me (bless her), but the reality is, this would suit me much more if I had decided to go down the path I started in the early 90s when I was working in Interior Design, where my lifestyle revolved around such designery-goodness haha
Key words to take not here: "Artisans", "Craft" and "Designer". The usage of the dragon motif seen in Singapore heartland's playgrounds in the 70s adapted into a rocking horse, is inspired. And the retro-designed ping-pong table would make a fab conference table too, IMHO! At lest in the fictional imaginary TOYSREVIL HQ … #wistful-sign…
Make sure you smile and say "hi" to the folks running the place, and I am sure they'll sort you out and introduce you to stuff on display … I wouldn't know as I did not and no one bothered me as I walked around, but I see other visitors did, and have a fun time being presented with the stuff on display, it seems haha
