Singapore 24 Hour Comics Day 2022 (October 1-2 @ National Library Singapore)
The National Library Singapore is hosting the 2022 Edition of "24 Hour Comics Day", scheduled for 1st to 2nd October. Spots are limited, and you can signup via this link.
As stated on the sign-up page, there will be two options for Participation: "24 Hour Challenge" and "12 Hour Challenge".
*Choose 24 Hour Challenge if you would want to stay overnight for the challenge from 10am (1 Oct) - 10am (2 Oct).
*Choose 12 Hour Challenge if you would want to stay for the challenge from 10am - 10pm.
And also this was the reply (on their Facebook page), with regards to the need to be physically present at the location for the challenge:
QUESTION: Do we necessarily have to come there in person in order to participate or can we participate from home?
ANSWER: ... you can work from home if you want. Do join us on discord and keep in touch during the 24hrs if you would like some company while taking on the challenge!
That certainly changes things! I've always personally been interested to join, but being physically present at the designated location had always been the hurdle (for me personally), although the "staying shackled to the venue for 24-hours" is one of the fun aspects of the event, IMHO, otherwise I could just doodle anytime, innit? And the joy is to be doing this WITH OTHER FOLKS, methinks a fruitful endeavour!
That said, I have just signed up for the "12 Hour Challenge", and I will update if there is further information or updates!
Do also note that there will be a pre-event briefing on 25 Sep, 11am. More details for the briefing will be shared via email, no doubt apart of when you sign-up via this link. Please also email any queries about the event to arts@nlb.gov.sg.
