WHAT-IS: "The most anticipated event in the Institute of Technical Education’s 2015 calendar, the biennial ITE musical production is coming soon. This year, ITE embarks on an all-new story with a unique, never-seen-before cast of characters, sets and songs."
SYNOPSIS: "Becoming Home is a tale of Singapore’s storied past and present, as seen through the eyes of five friends. The story begins when these students participate in a short film competition. Their objective, to showcase “Singapore”.
Their research into the heart and soul of Singapore brings the group to memorable landmarks and pivotal moments in Singapore’s history. The group even come face-to-face with our founding fathers and a host of colourful, iconic characters that Singaporeans and our history textbooks are all too familiar with.
The music in Becoming Home echoes the eclectic nature of its story, harmoniously blending inventively clever lyrics with iconic songs from Singapore’s past - and a few popular tunes you may recognise from across the globe."
